This sight was built around real hunting problems. Open faced dots can be shut down by a wet leaf or a clump of snow. The enclosed RDO can be wiped clean and kept running. Adjustments needed to be solid clicks with no guessing, and the dot had to be bright enough to see while staying small enough for accuracy. The mounting had to sit low for iron sight rifles, and the battery had to be common and changeable without pulling the optic.
