VIDEO: The Story of Wingnut | Hal Blood's Stories From the Trail

In 2010, Hal Blood picked up a fresh buck track in the Maine big woods and followed it for miles through fog, icy snow, and rugged mountain country. After jumping the buck from its bed, Hal stayed on the track as the deer searched for does, eventually catching up to him in a thick cut and dropping the beautiful 10-pointer he named “Wingnut.” In this episode, Hal explains how he anticipated the buck’s movements, used the terrain to his advantage, and finally got his shot.
