Mike was born and raised in Maine. He found the woods and waters were his first love early in life while growing up on the Saco River. He began chasing whitetails at 13 years old, skipping school any day it snowed during November to track deer. He killed his first buck at 15. After being caught tracking a buck out of season by the local sheriff, he was encouraged to get a guide license and use his outdoor skills in a constructive manner. Since that time, Mike has guided hundreds of sportsmen and women in the pursuit of turkey, bear, deer, moose, upland game & wild Maine brook trout throughout the great state of Maine. For the past 15 years, Mike has guided primarily at Cedar Ridge Outfitters in Jackman, Maine owned by famed whitetail hunter & guide, Hal Blood and his lovely wife Debbie. In the springtime, Mike guides turkey hunters & fly fishermen.

 

 Having killed more than two-dozen whitetail bucks in Maine & a handful more in Ohio and Ontario, Canada, Mike believes the best stories come from the hunts that failed. These are stories told around the campfire and give hunters the best lessons.

 

 Over twenty moose have been called to the gun by Mike, as he and the rest of the guides at Cedar Ridge Outfitters are expert moose callers & hunters. Mike believes, he has called in over a hundred moose over the last 15 years.

 

 Turkey hunters have reaped success at the helm of Mike’s expert calling skills, also. Over the past decade, hunters have hung thirty-five gobblers that Mike has called in.
